Malicki, Chopin and Tango – 5th September, Warszawa Chamber
Waldemar Malicki, known not only for being an excellent pianist but also as an author and an entertainer of educational broadcasts and TV programmes “Humour at the Philharmonic” (Filharmonia Dowcipu) will give a performance on 5th September at a very unusual concert in the “Wieliczka” Salt Mine.

The European Medal for the Mine
On the day of opening the season, 19th March 2010, the Mine was awarded the European Medal for its unique voyage throughout the history of Poland and Europe giving evidence to the social development of the continent and an exceptional lesson in nature, culture and mining technology.

The Mine’s opening hours during Easter Holiday
Holy Friday (2nd April) – due to the inauguration of the Way of the Cross, the underground metropolis will be opened from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. (the last group will begin their visit at 10:00 a.m.) and from 12:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. (the last group will begin their visit at 7:30 p.m.).

“Tourists” – new exhibition in the “Wieliczka” Salt Mine
They call her “a versatile saboteur”. She paints, draws, does not shun from graphics, boldly reaches out for ceramics, artistic fabric, assembles installations. She is curious of the world, which she interprets with humour, spices up with a pinch of irony. Agata Siwek will present a series of large-format water-colours titled "Tourists” and a set of graphics in dry point technique titled “Children” in the Mine. The guests visiting the historical undergrounds will be able to enjoy Siwek’s works beginning from March to June in the Drozdowice III Chamber.
